Working with clients outside your own industry is one of the most rewarding challenges in business. It pushes you to step out of your comfort zone, adapt quickly, and develop new skills you never knew you needed.
It’s not just about solving problems—it’s about listening, learning, and growing. Every conversation is a chance to see the world through their lens, uncover unique insights, and approach solutions with fresh eyes.
Sure, it can feel like unfamiliar territory at first, but that’s where the magic happens. When you build these “muscles,” you create lasting partnerships and open doors to innovative thinking.
Here’s to embracing the unfamiliar and thriving in the growth it brings! 💪.
Building the dreaded #Proforma for investment.....Oh how you've killed me (and so many others) over the years.
I got so tired of building them (40 hours minimum) and knew I couldn't scale that part of my business and while bitching about it over cocktails with the incredible entrepreneur, Sandra Gault, and we decided then and there to automate it.
Recurved, Inc. is the top product for startups and early stage ventures as well as #investment groups, #angels and even #VC's to leverage to ensure that proformas are accurate, simple to use and provide transparency across the board. It's a CEO's dream. 😇
👉 Learn a bit more about the journey below and please do yourself a favor, don't do them in #Excel.....nothing against Excel but man this is so much easier and so much more accurate. Makes modeling and running your business a breeze.
Building a business isn’t about quick wins or overnight success—it’s a long, challenging journey. Entrepreneurs must embrace the mindset of running a marathon, where hashtag#resilience, hashtag#adaptability, and hashtag#patience are key.
🏃♀️Each step forward, no matter how small, adds up. There will be setbacks, unexpected hurdles, and detours, but success lies in persistence. True growth happens over time, not through short bursts of energy. So, lace up, pace yourself, and stay committed to your long-term vision. Remember, it’s about progress, not perfection. 🏃♀️🏃♂️💡
👍 Superpower in Action: Picking Up the Phone and Asking for Help
In life, we’re often faced with moments where we can either stand by or step in to help. One of the simplest yet most powerful actions is picking up the phone when someone calls for help. It’s not just about answering a phone—it’s about showing up when someone needs you. Your willingness to listen, support, and respond can make a world of difference to someone in need.
📣 But there’s another side to this superpower: knowing when to ask for help yourself. We often feel hesitant or afraid to reach out, fearing that we’ll be seen as weak or burdensome. Yet, asking for help when you need it is one of the strongest, most courageous things you can do. It’s a reminder that none of us are meant to go through life alone. We thrive on connection, and sometimes the bravest move is to pick up the phone and say, “I need help.”
Remember, your strength lies in knowing when to support others and when to reach out yourself. It’s not a sign of weakness—it’s your superpower!
🤔 Tuesday Tip: It's about the pain, dummy. No really, it IS about what you are willing to risk, to endure mentally or physically to get to the other side - to build that business, to have that relationship, to create your perfect world.
💪 This tip is all about endurance and what you are willing to do to make your dreams a reality. I know it sounds simple, but how many overnight success do you really know of?? How many Olympic athletes just showed up a few times and then won the gold medal...yeah, literally none.

💥 Tuesday Tip: Stepping out of your comfort zone is where true growth happens!
😴 It’s easy to fall into the routine of👩🌾 Tuesday Tip: It's all about the data. The devil is truly in the details and data matters - seek it out constantly and audit your results. It’s like tending a garden - you can’t just water sporadically and expect things to magically grow - you need to tend to the weeds, re-plant when necessary, and even pull out plants and move them to other locations where they will grow and succeed.
💹 We have so much data now it's a bit overwhelming but that's not an excuse to not get into the weeds and dig. In fact, you may find that not only do you have people in the wrong places that need to be replanted & upskilled (yes, AI I'm looking at you), but that your customers are changing and need you to take notice too.
Comment below on how you use data to make your d attending the same conferences, mingling with the same people, and sticking to familiar strategies. But what if you ventured beyond the usual? What if you explored technology in a new way, tapped into emerging trends, or borrowed innovative ideas from unrelated fields?
🚀 Leveraging insights from different industries can breathe new life into your projects, sparking creativity and driving unexpected results. Don’t be afraid to break the mold and challenge the status quo—sometimes, the best ideas come from the most unlikely places.
Tuesday Tip: Taking and Owning Accountability
As a CEO or leader, taking accountability isn’t just a responsibility—it’s a powerful tool for growth. When you own your decisions, actions, and outcomes, you create a culture of trust and integrity within your organization. Accountability doesn’t mean avoiding mistakes, but rather owning them, learning from them, and leading by example. It’s about showing your team that you’re willing to step up and take responsibility, no matter how tough the situation. This not only builds credibility, but it also inspires your team to do the same, creating a ripple effect of accountability and ownership throughout the company. Leadership starts with owning it—good or bad.
Tuesday Tip: Being able to see around corners is both a blessing and a curse!
I was told this "pioneer story" by a mentor of mine Youngsuk Chi at Ingram Micro very early in my professional career and have retold it at least 50 times if not more. While it makes me laugh at myself, it's also an acknowledgement that as someone who can see around corners and connect the dots quickly it is both both a blessing and a real challenge at times!
🙄 While it's exciting to anticipate what’s next, spot opportunities, and solve problems before they even arise, it can also be frustrating when others don’t see the vision right away, or when you’re moving faster than the pace of change or speed of light for that matter!
I've had to really learn hashtag#patience (not my strong suit!) and provide clear communication to help bring people along on the journey with me. I guess in some ways it's what has made me a successful entrepreneur and leader.
Have you ever had that experience? Toning down your "internal intuition" can be tough and you are not alone - please share your story below!!
Tuesday Tip: PLEASE Celebrate the Small Wins 🎉
🤣 This one took me a really long time to learn and I sacrificed personal relationships because I didn't want to take time off from the daily grind to relax, celebrate and event take vacations with friends and family.
It’s easy to get caught up in the grind, focus only on the big milestones and chasing the next shiny object. But it’s the small wins that truly keep us moving forward. Taking time to celebrate these moments, however small, fuels our motivation and keeps our momentum alive. 🌟
So, take a moment today to recognize your progress, appreciate the journey, and celebrate the victories—no matter how small they may seem. They all add up!
🤔 Tuesday Tip: Decisions, Decisions: Know When to Walk Back and When to Push Forward
In business, not all decisions are created equal. Two-way decisions allow us to test, learn, and pivot without heavy consequences. They’re the perfect playground for innovation—recalibrate and relaunch as needed.
But one-way decisions? They’re different. Once made, changing course can be costly and even detrimental. These require deeper analysis and commitment.
Understanding the difference is key to driving growth while minimizing risk. Make smart choices, and always know when you can afford to walk back. 🚀
🚀 Tuesday Tip: Customer Obsession / Servant Mindset
Being customer-obsessed means putting our audience at the heart of everything we do. We cultivated a deep understanding of our community, leveraging feedback and real-time interactions to tailor content and programming that truly resonates with them.
This customer-focused approach not only boosted engagement but also provided valuable insights that allowed us to deliver exceptional value to our sponsors, ensuring their messages aligned perfectly with what our audience cares about most.
🚀 Tuesday Tip: Mas con Menos – More with Less
In business, frugality isn’t just about cutting costs; it’s about making smart choices that maximize impact. 💡
This week, I’m sharing a few ways to stretch your budget without sacrificing quality and sharing some of the ways in which I've saved money in my businesses by adopting the "mas con menos" attitude!
✅ DIY Where You Can: Not every task requires a full team. Sometimes, rolling up your sleeves and getting it done yourself can save money and give you deeper insights into your business.
✅ Leverage Fractional Teams: Outsource specialized tasks to fractional teams. You get top-tier talent without the full-time commitment.
✅ Smart Client Entertainment: Building relationships doesn’t have to break the bank. Find creative ways to entertain potential clients that leave a lasting impression without overspending.
Remember, it’s not about spending less—it’s about spending smarter. 💼
